Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies

Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies use simple ingredients including smooth peanut butter, maple syrup, almond flour, and vanilla. These cookies are formed into small balls, flattened with a fork, then cooked in an air fryer until golden on top but still soft inside. A brief resting period allows them to firm up before serving, making a neat handheld treat with a tender texture.

Description

This recipe blends drippy, smooth peanut butter with maple syrup, vanilla extract, almond flour, and a small amount of baking soda until smooth. The dough is portioned into tablespoon-sized balls, pressed with a fork to create a classic criss-cross pattern, and cooked in an air fryer at 325°F for 5 to 7 minutes. The cookies come out soft but firm up as they cool.

The cookies are soft in the center with a slight golden top, providing a tender and moist texture characteristic of almond flour and peanut butter baked goods. They are ideal for a quick snack or light dessert and do not require conventional oven use.

Care should be taken to avoid using parchment paper in the air fryer to maintain proper air circulation. Weighing the almond flour is recommended for accuracy, and adding a bit of extra maple syrup can help if the batter appears dry. Let cookies cool undisturbed in the air fryer basket (removed from the fryer) to firm up properly.

Ingredients

Servings
  • ¼ cup peanut butter use PB that is drippy with no added sugar, smooth
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
  • 70 grams almond flour approx. ¾ cup
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small mixing bowl and stir until combined. The batter might seem dry at first, but just keep mixing until it's smooth.
  2. Use a small cookie scoop (1 tablespoon) to scoop your batter. Then roll it into a ball in the palm of your hand. Use a fork to press the ball down into a flatter cookie shape, making a crisscross pattern. Then place the cookie into your air fryer basket. Repeat with the remaining batter, leaving a half inch space between each cookie. You should get 7 cookies.
  3. Air fry the cookies at 325 degrees F for 5-7 minutes until they appear golden on top. They will still be soft to the touch, this is normal and they will firm up as they cool. Remove the basket from the fryer and let the cookies rest, undisturbed for 10 minutes. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Do not use parchment paper in the air fryer to ensure air circulation under cookies.
  • Weigh almond flour for accuracy; too much can cause dryness.
  • If batter seems dry, add a teaspoon of maple syrup and mix before adding more.
  • Use a small (1 tablespoon) cookie scoop for uniform cookie size and cooking.
  • Press cookie balls with a fork in the palm, not directly on the air fryer basket, to prevent dough falling through holes.
  • Allow cookies to cool in the air fryer basket removed from heat for 10 minutes to firm up.
