Baked Chicken Tacos

These baked chicken tacos combine finely chopped cooked chicken with onions, green chiles, and taco seasoning for a savory filling. After filling the taco shells and topping them with shredded cheddar cheese, they are baked until the cheese melts, creating a warm, crispy taco shell with flavorful meat inside. This method simplifies taco preparation by baking assembled tacos in a pan, making them easy to serve and enjoy with fresh toppings like lettuce, tomato, and sour cream.

Description

Baked Chicken Tacos bring together seasoned chicken breast and sautéed onions cooked with taco seasoning and green chiles. The mixture is spooned into taco shells lined up in a baking pan, then topped with cheddar cheese before baking at 400 degrees until the shells are crisp and the cheese melts. The chicken filling offers a savory and mildly spicy taste complemented by the melted cheese and crunchy shells. The baking step melds the flavors and crisps the shells without making them soggy.

These tacos can be garnished with fresh lettuce, tomato, and sour cream to add cool textures and flavors that balance the warm and cheesy filling. They serve well as a casual dinner or party food where assembled tacos can be served hot from the oven.
