Banana Pudding

Banana Pudding is a baked dessert combining ripe mashed bananas with butter, vanilla, sugar, egg, and flour to form a soft, golden pudding. Its tender crumb and natural sweetness make it a comforting treat that pairs well with cream or vanilla ice cream.

Description

This recipe mixes mashed ripe or overripe bananas with melted butter, vanilla extract, caster sugar, beaten egg, and sifted plain flour to create a batter poured into a prepared baking dish. Baking at moderate temperature until golden produces a pudding with a delicate crumb and moist texture, showcasing the flavor of ripe bananas.

The natural sugars in the bananas provide sweetness balanced by vanilla and butter, while the egg and flour structure the pudding. The baked consistency is soft and slightly dense, making it satisfying as a dessert. Serving it warm with cream or vanilla ice cream adds contrast with coolness and enhances richness.

The sugar amount can be adjusted since overly ripe bananas add sweetness naturally. The pudding can be made in an 8-inch round dish and baked thoroughly to developed color and set texture.
