Best Ever Teriyaki Chicken

Best Ever Teriyaki Chicken uses bite-sized chicken thighs or breasts cooked in a skillet, then coated with a homemade teriyaki sauce made from low sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic, sesame oil, and fresh ginger. The sauce is thickened with cornstarch, creating a glossy coating that balances savory and sweet flavors, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Description

This recipe chops chicken thighs or breasts into one-inch pieces seasoned with salt and pepper, then seared in olive oil over medium-high heat until cooked through. The teriyaki sauce is crafted by mixing soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and freshly grated ginger. A cornstarch slurry is whisked in and heated to thicken the sauce to a glossy consistency.

Returning the chicken to the skillet, it is tossed to coat in the thickened teriyaki glaze, which offers a balance of mild sweetness and umami. Garnishes of sesame seeds and chopped green onions add a mild crunch and fresh aroma. The dish can be served over rice to absorb the flavorful sauce.
