Ingredients
- 24 ounces fresh or frozen blackberries
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 Dash salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Crumble
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 dashes salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 3-quart baking dish with pan spray.
- In a medium bowl, toss 24 ounces fresh or frozen blackberries together with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 dash salt, and 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, prepare the crumble topping by whisking together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 3 dashes salt. Cut in ½ cup unsalted butter with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the blackberry mixture and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is lightly toasted and the filling is bubbling. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes to let the liquid thicken before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or creme anglaise, if desired.
