Blackened Halloween Ribs Recipe

Blackened Halloween Ribs are pork back ribs seasoned with a smoky and spicy rub, slow-baked, then finished under the broiler with honey-glazed carrots. The rib rub includes smoked paprika, garlic, onion powders, oregano, black pepper, sea salt, and cayenne pepper for adjustable heat. This method results in tender meat with flavorful crust and caramelized carrots adding a sweet contrast.

Description

This recipe uses a spice blend with smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, salt, and cayenne to create a blackened rub for pork back ribs. The ribs are seasoned thoroughly and baked covered at 300°F for 1 hour and 40 minutes to achieve tender meat. Carrots tossed with neutral cooking oil are added to the baking sheet and cooked uncovered for 15 minutes, softening them. The dish finishes with honey drizzled over ribs and carrots and a final 5-minute broil to caramelize and slightly char the edges, enhancing the flavor and texture contrast. The combination of mildly spicy ribs and sweet carrots suits a fall or Halloween-themed meal.
