Brussels Waffle

A waffle is a small crisp batter cake, originally from Belgium, that is traditionally baked between two iron plates with various patterns.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 8 tablespoons butter , melted
  • 4 egg separated
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk and vanilla and let cool.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, egg yolks, sugar and a pinch of salt.
  3. Add milk and melted butter and mix.
  4. Roll the egg whites until stiff.
  5. Stir the egg whites into the dough to obtain a smooth dough.
  6. Heat the waffle iron over medium-high heat or the waffle unit in medium position.
  7. Pour dough and cook each waffle 3 to 4 minutes total.
