  • 3 medium very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup butter, unsalted melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan well with cooking spray, set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a medium bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add the butter, eggs, yogurt, sugar, and vanilla. Mix until completely smooth and combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Add 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips, gently fold together until just mixed. Do not overmix the batter.
  5. Pour the bread batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle remining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top. Bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the bread comes out with just a few crumbs.
  6. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a cooling rack and continue to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
