Mini Chocolate donuts are delicious small bites for breakfast, brunch or snack time! Leave them with chocolate or add mini marshmallows and nuts for Rocky Road donuts!

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup applesauce unsweetened
- 2 tablespoons oil canola, vegetable or coconut
For the Coating
- 1 cup chocolate chips melted
- For the topping optional
- mini marshmallows
- chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease donut pan or mini muffin pan. Set aside.
- In a large bowl mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, stir milk, eggs, vanilla, applesauce, and oil together. Pour into dry ingredients and mix until blended. Don't over mix.
- Using a pastry bag or plastic sandwich bag, pipe dough into prepared pan. Bake 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before removing the donuts from the pan.
- Dip each donut or mini muffin into the melted chocolate. Let harden or top with marshmallows and nuts.
