Chocolate Sauce Recipe

This Chocolate Sauce Recipe combines chopped dark, semi-sweet, or bittersweet chocolate with sugar, cream, water, and butter to create a smooth, rich sauce. The sauce offers a balanced sweetness and intense chocolate flavor, ideal for drizzling over desserts or ice cream. It keeps refrigerated for up to a week.

Description

The Chocolate Sauce Recipe uses quality chocolate, sugar, heavy cream, hot water, and softened unsalted butter to achieve a luscious, velvety sauce. Heating the ingredients gently in a double boiler melts the chocolate evenly, while stirring ensures a homogeneous mixture. Once smooth, butter and a pinch of salt are whisked in to enrich and deepen the flavor. This method creates a sauce that is rich and glossy without graininess.

The sauce's texture is creamy and pourable when warm, thickening as it cools, suitable for coating cakes, dipping fruits, or topping ice cream. It balances sweetness against the deep cocoa notes of the chocolate used, making it adjustable depending on the chocolate variety selected. The recipe advises omitting sugar for milk chocolate due to its inherent sweetness.

Stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator, the sauce keeps its quality for about a week. Gently reheating before use can restore the smooth texture. Selecting good quality chocolate contributes significantly to the final taste intensity and smoothness.
