For Cinnamon Apple Bake

  • 1 can cinnamon rolls each roll cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 granny smith apple cut into small chunks
  • 2 Tablespoons orange juice
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 Cup cream
  • 1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon nutmeg
  • pinch cloves optional
  • pinch salt
  • Non stick spray
  • 1/2 Cup pecans may substitute for walnuts

For Orange Maple Syrup

  • 1 Cup orange juice
  • 1/4 Cup maple syrup you may add more if you would like

Garnish

  • whipped topping optional

Instructions

For Cinnamon Apple Bake

  1. Preheat Oven to 375 Degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Spray nonstick spray on an 8x8" baking pan or casserole
  3. Soak the apples in the Orange Juice to prevent them from turning brown
  4. In a bowl, mix the eggs, cream, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves

Assembly:

  1. In the 8x8" pan spread the cinnamon rolls pieces on the bottom
  2. Add the apples spread out
  3. Add the egg and cream mix
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until top is brown and puffy. Add the pecans 8 minutes before the custard is ready
  5. Remove from oven and top with hot syrup
  6. Top with whipped topping
  7. Enjoy!

For Syrup

  1. In a saucepan, bring the orange juice to a boil and lower the heat to low and let it reduce until thickened (about 8-10 minutes). Stir constantly so the bottom doesn't burn
  2. Mix in the maple syrup
