Creamy Boursin Chicken Recipe

Creamy Boursin Chicken features pan-seared chicken breasts dusted with seasoned flour, cooked until golden, and finished in a pan sauce made by melting Boursin cheese into chicken broth. The sauce is rich, creamy, and flavorful, complementing the tender chicken. Chopped chives or parsley added on top bring a fresh note to the dish.

Description

The chicken breasts are patted dry and pounded slightly for even cooking. They are coated in a mixture of flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to create a seasoned crust during searing in olive oil and butter. After the chicken is browned and cooked through, it is removed while the pan sauce is prepared by boiling chicken broth and incorporating Boursin cheese which melts to form a creamy, herb-infused sauce.

The chicken then returns to the pan, allowing the sauce to coat the pieces, enhancing the flavor and moisture. Serving with minced chives or parsley adds a mild oniony or fresh herb finish. This dish offers a balanced, creamy texture with savory spices and herbs.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 medium chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 package Boursin cheese
  • chives to serve, minced; or parsley

Instructions

  1. Dry the chicken well with paper towels. Pound the chicken a few times using the heel of your hand so that it is even in thickness.
  2. Whisk the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt in a shallow bowl then dip the chicken into it to coat.
  3. Heat the oil and butter in a large, non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the chicken and sear until it is golden brown, about 8 minutes. Flip the chicken over, lower the heat to medium-low, and continue to cook until both sides are golden and the chicken is fully cooked, about 10 minutes more. Remove the chicken from the pan.
  4. Add the stock to the pan, turn the heat to medium-high, and let it come to a boil. Add the Boursin cheese and stir until it melts into the sauce. Let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes then return the chicken and any juices to the pan and stir so it coats the chicken. Serve with some minced chives or parsley over the top.
