Crescent Heart Danish Recipe
Description
The recipe begins by rolling and folding crescent dough sheets, then slicing and shaping them into hearts by pinching ends and pressing down centers. The filling consists of softened cream cheese mixed smoothly with powdered sugar, providing a creamy base under a layer of raspberry jam or other fruit preserves.
The edges are brushed with a butter and brown sugar mixture before baking at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until the crust turns golden. Once cooled, a simple icing made from powdered sugar and cream or milk is drizzled over the danishes, enhancing their sweetness and presentation.
These danishes offer a balance of flaky, buttery dough, tangy cream cheese, and fruity jam. They're suitable for breakfast, brunch, or a light dessert. The ability to use different jams allows customization of flavors.
