Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds fresh green beans trimmed
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 onion diced
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 4 lices Bacon cooked and chopped
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Place the trimmed green beans, diced onion, minced garlic, and cooked bacon in the crockpot.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the chicken broth, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme.
- Pour the broth mixture over the green beans in the crockpot and stir to combine.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until the green beans are tender.
- Once the green beans are cooked to your desired tenderness, stir in the balsamic vinegar and butter.
- Let the green beans cook for an additional 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to blend together.
- Once the green beans are nicely glazed and the flavors are well combined, switch off the crockpot.
- Transfer the green beans to a serving dish and serve hot.
Notes
- - If you prefer to cook on HIGH, cook for 2-3 hours.
