Dynamite Shrimp

Dynamite Shrimp features crispy deep-fried shrimp coated in a spicy and tangy sauce made from mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, and ketchup. The shrimp are seasoned with chili powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, and egg before being dredged in a mix of flour, cornflour, garlic powder, and salt, then fried until golden and crispy. Served garnished with sesame seeds, lettuce, and spring onions, this appetizer balances heat and creaminess with a crunchy texture.

Description

Dynamite Shrimp combines shelled and deveined shrimp seasoned with red chili powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, and salt, then coated in a flour and cornflour mixture flavored with garlic powder. They are deep-fried in hot oil until golden and crisp. The shrimp are then tossed in a creamy sauce made of mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, honey, and tomato ketchup, delivering a spicy yet mildly sweet and tangy flavor profile. The finishing touches include a garnish of chopped spring onions, black and white sesame seeds, and a bed of lettuce, adding texture and subtle freshness.

The dish is prepared by deep-frying shrimp individually to maintain a light, crispy coating. Tossing the fried shrimp in the sauce just before serving ensures the coating stays crunchy yet well-coated. Its relatively quick cooking time makes it a suitable appetizer or snack. The use of smoked paprika and chili powder gives a smoky heat that complements the creamy mayo-based sauce.

Serve Dynamite Shrimp immediately to retain the crispiness of the coating. The sesame seed garnish enhances visual appeal and adds a mild nutty note, while the spring onions contribute a slight onion sharpness. Lettuce provides a fresh, cool contrast to the spicy fried shrimp.
