Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken thighs and legs
- 3 cups buttermilk
- salt and pepper
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 2 tablespoons seasoning salt
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 teaspoon Louisiana chicken seasoning
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add the 2 pounds chicken thighs and legs, 3 cups buttermilk, and salt and pepper. Marinate for 1 hour or overnight.
- In a large bowl combine the 2 cups self-rising flour, 2 tablespoons seasoning salt, 2 tablespoons salt, 1 teaspoon Louisiana chicken seasoning , 1 tablespoon garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon onion powder.
- In a heavy bottomed skillet, add 1 inch of oil for frying to the pan. Heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Take the chicken out of the buttermilk and coat it with the flour mixture. Add to the oil to fry.
- Fry for about 4 minutes on each side until golden brown and reach 165 degrees internal temperature.
