Ground Pork Stir Fry Recipe
Description
The dish begins by browning ground pork in a large skillet, breaking it up into small pieces. A sauce is prepared from chicken broth, cornstarch, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced ginger, and garlic, mixed to a smooth consistency. Mushrooms are added to the pork and cooked further, then drained of excess fat if necessary before adding the remaining vegetables. The vegetables cook until they reach a crisp-tender texture, preserving their color and bite.
Pouring in the sauce thickens the mixture slightly, creating a glossy coating that binds the flavors. This stir fry is typically served over rice or noodles to complement the rich sauce and tender pork. The balance of sweetness, savory, and warm spices in the sauce highlights the simple ingredients.
Ingredients
Ground Pork Stir Fry
- 1 lb ground pork lean
- 2 cups mushroom sliced
- 2 cup Green bean chopped
- 2 medium carrot sliced
- 1 red black pepper chopped
- 1 medium onion chopped
Sesame Ginger Sauce
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup soy sauce gluten-free if needed
- 2 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons ginger minced
- 1 tablespoon garlic minced
Instructions
- Add the ground pork to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the meat, stirring it to break up the pieces occasionally, until it is mostly brown, about 5 minutes.
- While the pork cooks, make the sauce. Put the cornstarch and a splash of the chicken stock into a 2-cup measuring cup or small bowl and mix well. Add the remaining chicken stock, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, ginger, and garlic and mix once more.
- When the pork is mostly cooked, add the mushrooms to the pan and let them cook for 5 minutes. If there is more than 1 tablespoon of the oil in the pan remove it by tilting the pan to the side and using a spoon to scoop it out. If there is less, add a splash of oil.
- Add the green beans, carrots, red pepper, and onion to the pan and let them cook for 5 minutes, until they are crisp-tender.
- Stir the sauce to mix up the starch then pour it into the pan. Once the sauce has thickened (1-2 minutes) serve the stir fry over rice or noodles.
