Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs feature boneless chicken cooked in a skillet with a sweet and savory sauce made from honey, soy sauce, garlic, and onions. The sauce reduces and thickens coating tender chicken thighs with rich flavor. Optional sesame seeds and green onions add a finishing touch.

Description

This recipe uses boneless chicken thighs seasoned and seared in a hot skillet to form a golden crust. Garlic and diced onion are sautéed in the same pan to build aroma and flavor before adding a mixture of soy sauce and honey. Scraping the pan deglazes and incorporates browned bits into the sauce, enriching its taste.

Chicken returns to the pan, simmering gently until fully cooked and the honey-soy sauce thickens to a glaze. The balance of sweet honey and salty soy complements the savory chicken and the caramelized garlic and onion provide aromatic depth.

It pairs well with steamed rice that soaks up the sauce and is suitable for preparing multiple servings with flexible scaling. Garnishing with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions enhances texture and presentation.

Storage instructions describe dividing leftovers into portions and refrigerating for 3-4 days or freezing for up to one month. Freezing can be done by separating chicken from sauce. Reheating is simple and done in short microwave intervals. The notes also include substitution options for the main components.
