Honey Teriyaki Salmon Recipe

Honey Teriyaki Salmon features salmon fillets baked with a glossy homemade teriyaki sauce made from honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic. The sauce reduces to a sticky glaze that enhances the salmon’s natural richness. Sesame seeds and sliced green onions add texture and brightness when serving.

Description

This Honey Teriyaki Salmon begins by simmering a mix of honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated ginger, garlic, and water until the sauce thickens into a flavorful glaze. Salmon fillets are placed skin-side down in a baking dish and coated with half of the sauce before baking at 425°F until just flaky. This method gently cooks the fish while allowing the sauce to infuse the surface with sweet and savory notes.

The final dish has a tender, moist salmon interior with a sticky, shiny coating layered with warm ginger and garlic undertones. Sesame seeds and sliced green onions scattered on top add a nutty crunch and fresh, slightly sharp flavor contrast.

Serve the Honey Teriyaki Salmon over steamed rice or alongside vegetables for a well-rounded meal that balances sweet, salty, and umami flavors. The straightforward cooking and common ingredients make it approachable for home cooks seeking a flavorful seafood dish.

Servings
  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce gluten-free if needed
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar

  3. Serve the salmon with the remaining sauce drizzled over and some sesame seeds and green onions on top.
