Ingredients
- 8 lices brioche bread you can also sub with other bread if desired
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Butter for griddle
- optional strawberries bananas, maple syrup, jam, and jelly to serve
Instructions
- Make the egg mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Whisk until well combined and pour the mixture into a shallow bowl that’s big enough to hold a slice of the bread.
- Prepare the bread: Cut the bread into ¾-inch to 1-inch thick pieces.
- Heat the skillet: Melt some butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Spread evenly over the surface with a spatula.
- Soak the bread: Dip one slice of bread into the egg mixture, let it soak for 2-3 seconds, and flip and dip/soak the other side for 2 seconds.
- Fry the French toast: Shake off the excess egg mixture from each bread, and place them onto the hot skillet. Fry for about 3 minutes until the underside becomes golden brown. Then flip and fry the other side for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. (Cook in batches to avoid overlapping.) Repeat with the remaining pieces.
- Serve: Serve warm with desired toppings such as maple syrup, jelly, butter or fresh berries.

Notes
- We recommend adding cinnamon and vanilla to the egg mixture, but it'll still taste good without.
- Don't soak the bread slices in the egg mixture for too long, otherwise, your French toast can be soggy.
