Italian Dressing Pork Chops Recipe

Italian Dressing Pork Chops feature thick-cut boneless pork chops marinated in Italian dressing, then baked and topped with panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese for a crispy, flavorful crust. Parsley adds a fresh touch. The marinade imparts tangy and herby notes, while the breadcrumb and cheese topping create a golden finish.

Description

The pork chops are soaked in Italian dressing, which tenderizes the meat and infuses it with oil and vinegar-based herbs and spices. After marinating for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours, the chops are baked until nearly cooked through. The breadcrumb and Parmesan topping is then spread on each chop, and the pan is broiled briefly to melt the cheese and crisp the topping. The result is juicy pork with a crunchy, savory crust and aromatic parsley garnish.

This dish is suited for a main course paired with vegetables or salads. Using an oil and vinegar-based dressing ensures the marinade does not become creamy and masks the herb flavors. The recipe recommends a homemade Italian dressing but store-bought options can be used as long as they fit this profile.

Marinate the pork chops while preheating the oven if time is limited, allowing you to cook promptly. Check doneness with a thermometer aiming for 140 degrees Fahrenheit for juicy results.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 pork chop boneless; thick-cut
  • 1 cup Italian dressing
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs can be gluten-free
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • parsley to serve, minced

Instructions

  1. Place the pork chops into a baking dish and pour the Italian dressing over the top. Let the pork chops marinate on your counter for 30 minutes or in your fridge for up to 8 hours.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit then bake the pork chops for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove the pork chops from the oven and turn your oven to broil. Spread one tablespoon of breadcrumbs on top of each pork chop then top each with a tablespoon of parmesan cheese. Spoon some of the dressing in the baking dish over the pork chops then return them to the oven for 4-5 minutes, until they are cooked through (140 degrees Fahrenheit) and golden on top. Sprinkle a little parsley over the top to serve.

Notes

  • If pressed for time, marinate chops during oven preheating to speed preparation.
  • Use an oil and vinegar-based Italian dressing, avoiding creamy varieties for best flavor and texture.
  • Check pork chops with a thermometer to ensure they reach 140°F for optimal juiciness.
