Jeow som or jaew som ແຈ່ວ ສົ້ມ is a hot sweet chilli sauce popular in Laos and Thailand (แจ่ว).

Ingredients
- 3 cloves garlic , with the skin on
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro
- 8 red Thai chillies
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 tablespoons lime juice
Instructions
- Grill the garlic and chillies over embers, or in direct contact with a gas stove flame, until their skins turn black.
- Remove the skins, and place the garlic and chillies in a mortar.
- Add all the other ingredients, and pound everything to make a thin paste.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro.
