  • 5 pound boneless pork butt roast
  • 4 tablespoons minced garlic  about 12 cloves
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons sea salt (Hawaiian Pink Salt is preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons Hickory Liquid Smoke

Instructions

Slow Cooker Instructions

  1. Place a 5 pound boneless pork butt roast into the base of a 6 quart slow cooker. Rub 4 tablespoons minced garlic, 2 tablespoons grated ginger and 2 tablespoons Sea Salt all over the roast. Drizzle 2 tablespoons hickory liquid smoke over the top.
  2. Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours until roast is easily shredded with a fork.
  3. Shred pork directly in slow cooker and stir meat in with juices. Serve plain, over rice, or on a bun!

Notes

  • Preheat oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Place roast into a 5 to 7-quart oven-safe pot with lid or use a roasting pan. Rub the garlic, ginger and salt all over to coat. Drizzle the liquid smoke.
  • Place the lid on the pot or cover your roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil. Roast at 225 degrees for 8-9 hours, until pork shreds easily with a fork. Shred and mix with juices.
