Lemon Pepper Fish Recipe
Description
This Lemon Pepper Fish Recipe prepares four white fish pieces seasoned evenly on both sides with lemon pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and sweet paprika to add a layered flavor of citrus, garlic, herbs, and mild warmth. Olive oil is drizzled to help the spices adhere and to promote moistness during baking. Arranging lemon slices around the fish during roasting at 425 degrees Fahrenheit enhances the fresh citrus aroma and adds subtle juice to the dish. Baking for about 12 to 15 minutes results in fish that is opaque and flakes easily, indicating doneness. A sprinkle of minced parsley at the end contributes a fresh herbal note. The recipe works well with any firm white fish such as tilapia and offers a quick, flavorful baked fish option.
Note that the seasoning blend used includes salt, so additional salting may not be necessary depending on the blend. If using a lemon pepper without salt, season accordingly.
Ingredients
- 4 pieces white fish
- 1 tablespoon lemon pepper see notes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika sweet
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lemon sliced
- parsley to serve, minced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Dry the fish well with paper towels then sprinkle the lemon pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika evenly over both sides of the fish.
- Drizzle half of the olive oil over one side of the fish pieces then pat the spices onto the fish so that they really stick to the fish. Transfer the fish to a baking sheet, oiled side down. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the fish and once more pat the spices onto the fish. Arrange a few lemon slices around the fish.
- Bake the lemon pepper fish for 12-15 minutes, or until it turns white and flakes easily. Serve the fish with the lemon slices on the side and a little parsley sprinkled over the top.
Notes
- Use a lemon pepper seasoning that includes salt or add salt separately to ensure proper seasoning.
- Firm white fishes like tilapia work well for this recipe.
