Maple Fudge Recipe
Description
The Maple Fudge recipe uses white chocolate chips melted with sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt in a microwave-safe bowl, stirred regularly to achieve a smooth melt. Incorporating chopped walnuts adds a crunchy contrast to the creamy fudge, while pure maple extract provides a distinct maple aroma and flavor.
Once combined, the mixture is spread into a prepared pan lined with parchment and refrigerated until firm, about two hours. This microwave fudge is softer than traditional fudge varieties, so it is best kept chilled until serving to maintain texture and prevent melting.
Maple Fudge offers a subtle, pleasing sweetness from the maple extract paired with the smooth sweetness of white chocolate, complemented by walnut pieces layered throughout. It serves well as a homemade candy or party treat, especially for maple-flavor enthusiasts.
Preparation includes lightly oiling and lining the pan to ease removal. This fudge stores well refrigerated for up to two weeks and can be frozen in slices wrapped for up to six months, making it convenient for ahead-of-time treats.
Ingredients
- 4 cups white chocolate chips or chunks or chopped bars
- 14 ounce sweetened condensed milk can
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup walnuts chopped
- 2 teaspoons pure maple extract
Instructions
- Combine white chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, butter and salt in a microwave safe bowl
- Microwave on high for three minutes, stirring after each minute
- Stir in the walnuts and maple extract
- Spread the mixture in the prepared pan
- Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours
Notes
- Oil the pan lightly before lining with parchment paper to keep the paper in place.
- Omit nuts if there are tree nut allergies; the fudge will still be delicious.
- Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- To freeze, slice after setting, flash freeze pieces on a tray, then store in airtight containers for up to six months.
- This fudge is softer than traditional versions and should be kept chilled until serving.
