Mexican Brownies

Mexican Brownies bring a rich chocolate base enhanced with cinnamon and a touch of cayenne for subtle heat. This blend of spices creates a distinct flavor and aroma that complements the fudgy texture. Mini chocolate chips add extra pockets of melted chocolate for a textured bite.

Description

The recipe starts with a family-size fudge brownie mix combined with milk, vegetable oil, eggs, cinnamon, cayenne, and chocolate chips. The cinnamon offers a warm spiced note while cayenne introduces gentle heat that balances the sweetness. Baking in a parchment-lined pan yields brownies that are soft and moist.

Once cooled, the brownies are cut into squares and optionally dusted with cocoa powder or a cinnamon-sugar blend for added flavor layers. These brownies can be sliced smaller for sharing or a thicker version made by adjusting pan size and baking time as suggested on the mix packaging.

This treat pairs well with coffee or milk to mellow the warm spice. The subtle chili heat provides an unexpected twist to a classic dessert.

  • 2 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  2. In a large mixing bowl (or stand mixer), beat together the brownie mix, milk, oil, eggs, cinnamon, cayenne, and chocolate chips until evenly combined.
  3. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the brownies from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool. Cut into 15 squares. If desired, dust cocoa powder or powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon on top of the brownies before serving.
