Instructions
- Place the eggs in a microwave-safe bowl and add enough water to cover them by about 1 inch.
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt into the water (this helps to prevent the eggs from exploding).
- Cover the bowl loosely with a microwave-safe plate or lid.
- Microwave the eggs on high power for 3-4 minutes, depending on the wattage of your microwave and the desired level of doneness. For soft-boiled eggs, boil them in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. For medium-boiled eggs, microwave them for 3-4 minutes. And for hard-boiled eggs, microwave them for 4-5 minutes.
- After 3 minutes, check the eggs by carefully removing the plate or lid (with mitts) and piercing the egg whites with a fork or toothpick. If the whites are still runny, continue microwaving for an additional 30 seconds at a time until they are set.
- Once the eggs are done, carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and pour off the hot water. Rinse the eggs under cold water to stop the cooking process and cool them down.
- Peel the eggs, season and serve!
