Mixed Berry Protein Smoothie

This Mixed Berry Protein Smoothie combines frozen mixed berries, banana, almond milk, Greek yogurt, and vanilla protein powder for a creamy, thick drink with balanced sweetness and protein. The frozen fruit contributes to a chilled texture, while Greek yogurt adds creaminess and tang. The recipe accommodates dairy-free and vegan variations through ingredient swaps.

Description

The Mixed Berry Protein Smoothie uses mixed berries and banana as the fruit base, blended with almond milk for a smooth liquid. Greek yogurt and vanilla protein powder contribute texture, flavor, and nutritional protein content. Blending frozen berries and banana creates a thick, cold consistency without excess ice, delivering a satisfying mouthfeel that refreshes.

Flavor can be adjusted with additional sweeteners like liquid stevia or honey, depending on personal taste. Thickness is adjustable by adding more milk to thin or extra frozen berries or ice to thicken.

This smoothie makes a good option for a protein-rich snack or breakfast drink. It can be made dairy-free by substituting non-dairy yogurt and milk, and vegan by using plant-based protein powder, making it versatile for different dietary needs.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup mixed berries frozen, 140g
  • 1 cup almond milk or any milk of choice, unsweetened, 240g
  • 1 banana sliced - the ripper the sweeter!, medium, frozen, 120g
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt vanilla, 120g
  • 1/4 cup vanilla protein powder 30g

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a food processor or high-powered blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Taste and add any sweetener if needed to make it more sweet (I like using a few drops of liquid stevia). Add additional milk to make it thinner or more frozen berries or a little ice to make it thicker.

Notes

  • Use dairy-free yogurt and milk substitutes to make this smoothie dairy-free.
  • Choose plant-based protein powder for a vegan version.
  • Replace frozen berries with fresh ones; add extra ice to keep the smoothie cold and thick.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding preferred sweeteners like stevia, honey, or agave.
