Nescafe Cake

Nescafe Cake layers coffee-soaked tea biscuits with a whipped cream mixture flavored with instant coffee, sweetened condensed milk, and optional vanilla and creme caramel powder. Topped with cocoa powder and chilled until set, it features creamy, coffee-infused layers reminiscent of tiramisu for a rich dessert.

Description

The Nescafe Cake recipe begins by dissolving instant coffee powder in hot water to create a coffee soak. Heavy whipping cream is whipped with sweetened condensed milk, optional vanilla extract, and creme caramel powder until soft peaks form, creating a light yet flavored cream layer. Tea biscuits or graham crackers are quickly dipped into the coffee just long enough to absorb moisture but avoid falling apart, then layered in a clear dish. Half of the whipped cream mixture is spread over the biscuits, followed by another soaked biscuit layer and the remaining cream. The top is finished with a dusting of cocoa powder for an added chocolate note. The cake chills for several hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the layers to set firm but creamy. This no-bake dessert benefits from the caramel powder which deepens the cream's flavor, though it can be omitted if unavailable.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 tablespoon instant coffee powder nescafe brand, dissolved in 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream 250ml
  • 3 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • splash vanilla extract optional
  • 1 creme caramel powder 49g, powder only sachet
  • 1 tea biscuits 7 oz or 200 g, or graham crackers, pack quantity
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder for topping

Instructions

  1. Add the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and creme caramel powder to a bowl and beat until soft peaks form. Set this cream mixture aside.
  2. Dip the tea biscuits into the coffee briefly until they soak up the coffee but before they start to break apart. Layer in a 7x11 or 9x9 inch clear pyrex dish, then top with half the cream mixture.
  3. Repeat another layer of coffee soaked biscuits on top of the heavy cream, followed by the remaining half of the cream. Sift the cocoa powder on to the top, then refrigerate for several hours until set. This is even better the next day!

Notes

  • Including creme caramel powder enhances the cream mixture’s depth of flavor, though it can be omitted if desired.
  • Soak the tea biscuits briefly in coffee to prevent them from becoming too soft or breaking.
  • This dessert is best after chilling for several hours or overnight for firm layering.
