Ninja Creami Vanilla Protein Ice Cream Recipe
Description
This recipe uses a base combining dairy and plant milks with vanilla protein powder and pudding mix, sweetened with liquid stevia. The ingredients are thoroughly blended to ensure smoothness before freezing. Once frozen solid, the mix is processed in the Ninja Creami machine, first with a Gelato cycle to break up ice crystals, then stirred and processed again on a lighter cycle for creaminess.
The texture is adjustable by additional re-spinning for softer ice cream or fewer spins for a firmer texture. The ice cream is versatile with various topping options and can satisfy protein needs while providing a sweet treat.
Leftovers can be stored in the original container or transferred to another container for freezing. Letting the ice cream soften slightly before re-spinning or serving helps maintain good texture. Running the container under warm water for a few minutes before processing aids in smoother spinning and reduces icy edges. Preparing the base several hours ahead is sufficient; overnight freezing is ideal but not mandatory.
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk 2%, Fairlife brand, 240g
- 1 cup almond milk plain, unsweetened, 240g
- 2 Tbsp vanilla protein powder 15g
- 1 Tbsp vanilla pudding mix or regular, sugar-free, Jello brand, 7g
- 1/4 tsp stevia or sweetener or choice to taste, liquid form
Instructions
- Add all the base ingredients to an empty Ninja Creami pint and use an immersion blender to combine (or you can blend in a food processor or blender). Freeze for 12 to 24 hours.
- Take out and run under warm water for a few minutes. Then spin through the Gelato cycle once. Give the top of the ice cream a quick stir then spin again on the Lite ice cream cycle.
- Top with whatever toppings sound good and enjoy! (Topping ideas: Crushed Oreos or Reese’s, sprinkles, chocolate sauce!)
Notes
- Store unfinished ice cream in the Ninja Creami container by smoothing the top and refreezing, then re-spin before serving to restore texture.
- Leftover ice cream can be transferred to a different container for freezing; thaw or briefly microwave before serving.
- Run the container under warm water for 30 seconds before processing to avoid icy edges and ensure smooth texture.
- Re-spin the ice cream 2-3 times for softer consistency or once for traditional scoopable texture.
- Preparing the base several hours before freezing is sufficient; no need to wait a full 24 hours.
- Avoid overfilling the container as ice cream volume increases during processing cycles.
