No Churn Nutella Ice Cream
Description
No Churn Nutella Ice Cream features whipping cream whipped to stiff peaks combined with sweetened condensed milk and mini dark chocolate chips folded in for texture. A portion of Nutella is gently heated to loosen its consistency and then swirled through the cream mixture before freezing. This layering technique creates a delicate marbled effect and a nutty chocolate taste throughout the creamy ice cream base. The freezing process takes 8 to 10 hours or overnight until firm, yielding a soft yet set texture without needing an ice cream machine.
The integration of dark chocolate chips enhances the creamy body with pleasant chocolate bites. This recipe is ideal for those who want to make a rich homemade frozen treat easily at home using simple ingredients and without specialized equipment. It can be scooped directly from the freezer once firm.
Keep the ice cream stored in an airtight container in the freezer. Glass or stainless steel containers help maintain its quality. It can be kept frozen for up to two weeks while preserving its texture and flavor without significant ice crystallization.
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups whipping cream 310 ml, aka whole cream
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk (116 grams)
- ¼ cup dark chocolate chips 42.5 grams, mini
- 3-4 Nutella heaping soup spoons
Instructions
- Thin out the Nutella a little, either by placing in a bowl over a pot of boiling water or microwave.
- In a large bowl whip the cream until stiff peaks appear.
- Add a little whipped cream to the sweetened condensed milk mixture to make it easier to combine, then fold it into the remaining whipped cream.
- Fold in chocolate chips, then pour into a loaf pan approximately 8 inches (20x10 cm). Pour the thinned out cooled Nutella on top and with the tip of a knife mix it into cream mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for 8-10 hours until firm or even over night. Enjoy!
Notes
- Store the ice cream in an airtight container in the freezer to maintain texture and flavor.
- Glass or stainless steel containers are recommended for better preservation.
- The ice cream is best consumed within two weeks for optimal freshness.
