Nutella Puff Pastry Christmas Tree
Description
This recipe cuts two Christmas tree shapes from puff pastry sheets. One layer is spread evenly with Nutella before the second is placed on top, encasing the filling. Brushing the surface with whisked egg enables browning and enhances flakiness when baked at moderate heat. Baking for 15 to 18 minutes yields a crisp, golden pastry with the chocolate spread melted inside.
The result is a visually festive, sharable pastry snack combining flaky textures with a creamy Nutella center. The tree shape makes it suitable for holiday gatherings or special breakfasts. Decorating with icing sugar or candies adds to the holiday feel.
Allow puff pastry to come to just below room temperature to prevent cracking during shaping while maintaining structure. Warming Nutella makes it easier to spread thinner and evenly. Twisting branches can add visual texture. Leftover puff pastry can be saved for other uses. Serving with melted Nutella dip enhances the experience.
