  • 2 pack puff pastry 320g/11.25oz each, ready rolled
  • 180 g Nutella
  • 1 egg whisked
  • icing sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C/160°C(fan)/350°F/Gas 4.
  2. From 2 pack Ready rolled puff pastry, cut out two Christmas tree shapes.
  3. Spread 180 g Nutella over one tree, all the way to the edges. Lay the second tree on top, to cover the Nutella.
  4. Create a star for the top (optional) and brush the whole tree with 1 Egg.
  5. Bake for 15-18 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Dust with Icing sugar (optional).

Notes

  • Let puff pastry warm slightly before shaping to prevent cracks but avoid letting it get too soft.
  • Use ready rolled sheets for easier preparation.
  • Warm Nutella briefly to make it more spreadable without overheating.
  • Cut thicker branches for easier twisting and handling.
  • Add decorative candies like Smarties or M&Ms after cooling for festive appearance.
