Peach Crisp with Canned Peaches

Peach Crisp with Canned Peaches layers soft, spiced peach slices with a crumbly oat and brown sugar topping baked until golden. The canned peaches are thickened with cornstarch and flavored with cinnamon, ginger, and lemon for balanced sweetness and warmth. It’s a comforting dessert served warm, often paired with vanilla ice cream.

Description

This dessert uses canned yellow peaches packed in their own juice as a filling, enhanced by brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and a touch of kosher salt to balance sweetness. Lemon zest and juice brighten the flavor while cornstarch thickens the syrup to prevent sogginess. After resting, the filling is placed in a baking dish and topped with a mixture of rolled oats, flour, cinnamon, brown sugar, salt, and softened butter cut in to form a coarse, crumbly topping.

The crisp bakes at 350°F until the topping is golden and the peach filling bubbling, creating a contrast between soft fruit and crunchy topping. Serving it warm with vanilla ice cream adds creamy contrast to the textured crisp.
