Perfect Yeast Pastry Dough

Perfect Yeast Pastry Dough is a versatile dough made from warm milk, dry yeast, sugar, eggs, mayonnaise, salt, flour, and cooking oil. The dough requires kneading and rising to develop elasticity and softness, making it suitable for various baked pastries with a tender crumb and delicate texture.

Description

The preparation begins by activating dry yeast in warm milk mixed with sugar, allowing it to become bubbly to ensure a good rise. Eggs, mayonnaise, salt, and additional sugar are incorporated to enrich the dough. Flour is added gradually to form the dough, and cooking oil is introduced at the end to improve the texture and dough elasticity.

After thorough kneading, the dough is left to rise for about an hour until doubled in size, developing a smooth, elastic consistency ideal for shaping into pastries. Mayonnaise in the dough adds moisture and tenderness, distinguishing it from simpler yeast doughs.

This pastry dough can be used for a variety of sweet or savory baked goods, offering a soft crumb and pliable texture that holds fillings well. The recipe suggests Canadian flour for optimal results, but other all-purpose flours may also be used. Proper kneading and rising are key steps for achieving the desired texture.
