Pineapple Pork Chops Recipe

The Pineapple Pork Chops combine juicy boneless pork chops seared and cooked in a sweet and savory pineapple sauce that includes honey, soy sauce, and garlic. The sauce thickens as it simmers with the chops, creating a tangy glaze that complements the tender meat. Garnished with fresh cilantro, this dish offers a balance of richness, sweetness, and a touch of umami suitable for a satisfying dinner.

Description

Pineapple Pork Chops Recipe highlights boneless pork chops seasoned with garlic and onion powder, salt, and pepper, then seared on both sides to develop golden crusts. A sauce made from canned unsweetened pineapple tidbits and juice, honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic is poured into the pan after flipping the chops. The pork then simmers in this mixture until cooked through and the sauce reduces to a slightly thickened glaze.

The meat becomes tender with a crisp exterior, while the pineapple sauce brings a sweet acidity balanced by savory soy and mellow honey. Garlic adds aromatic depth. The cooking method seals in juices but allows the flavors to meld as the sauce caramelizes on the surface.

Serving the chops topped with minced cilantro adds a fresh herbal note. This dish pairs well with simple sides like steamed rice or vegetables to balance the rich glaze. The pineapple sauce naturally complements the pork’s savory profile.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 pork chops boneless
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
  • 14 ounce pineapple tidbits juice and fruit, unsweetened, canned
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce gluten-free or coco aminos, as needed
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • cilantro to serve, minced

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops on both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat the oil in a large, non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes, or until golden on one side.
  3. While the chops are searing, add the pineapple tidbits, honey, soy sauce, and garlic to a medium-sized bowl.
  4. Flip the chops over then pour the pineapple sauce into the pan. Continue to cook the pork chops until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit and the pineapple sauce has reduced and thickened a little, about 10 minutes. If the pineapple sauce is getting too thick, add a splash of water.
  5. Serve the pineapple pork chops with a little cilantro over the top.
