Smashed Radishes With Lemon Pepper Seasoning

This easy side dish is about to become the star of the show! These flavorful smashed radish bites come together in just a few steps and you can customize the seasoning with a little heat or finish with fresh herbs. Pair them with your favorite dipping sauce or add the radishes to a big warm grain bowl.

Ingredients

  • 2 bunches radishes about 1 lb
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil 30 mL
  • 1 Tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan 113 g

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). If radishes are large, cut them in half. In a large bowl, combine radishes, oil, and seasonings.
  2. 1st Bake: Arrange radishes in a single layer on a baking sheet and cook for 20 minutes, or until fork tender.
  3. Smash: Use a cup to firmly smash each radish until flattened. Sprinkle parmesan over radishes.
  4. 2nd Bake: Turn your oven to "broil" and transfer tray back into the oven on the middle rack. Cook for just a few minutes, watching closely until cheese is melted and radishes are browned at the edges.

Notes

  • Storage: Leftover radishes can be kept in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days. To reheat, pop them in the oven or air fryer so they get crispy again.
  • To make these in the air fryer, follow the temps and times in our air fryer radish recipe. Cook them until tender, mix with the seasonings listed here (or the seasonings in that recipe, they're delicious too!), smash, then return to the air fryer until crispy.
