Super Simple Mango Chutney Recipe

This mango chutney combines diced mango, red onion, golden raisins, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and vinegar to create a flavorful condiment simmered until softened and blended. The chutney balances sweet, tangy, and spicy elements in a thick, spreadable texture, ideal for pairing with savory dishes.

Description

Super Simple Mango Chutney blends diced mango with finely diced red onion, golden raisins, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger, cooked with white wine vinegar and seasoned with salt and red pepper flakes. The mixture simmers covered to soften ingredients and develop a harmonious sweet-tart-spicy profile. The chutney thickens as it cooks, intensifying flavors and melding textures.

This chutney provides a bright contrast to grilled meats, cheeses, or rice dishes, adding a lively fruitiness with a gentle heat. Transferring it to clean jars after cooking allows it to be stored and used for multiple meals.

Storing chutney in an airtight container in the fridge preserves freshness for up to two weeks. It can also be frozen for longer storage; leave headspace for expansion and use within about three months for best quality.
