Taro Ice Cream
Description
The recipe begins by warming 2% milk and dissolving taro boba powder into it, then mixing in sweetened condensed milk for sweetness and creaminess. After cooling this mixture, heavy whipping cream is beaten until thick and then gently folded with the taro mixture. This blend is poured into a container, covered, and frozen for 8 hours or overnight to set.
The resulting ice cream features a soft, creamy texture balanced by the subtle purple taro flavor. The use of condensed milk provides sweetness and richness without needing additional sugar. Before serving, the ice cream is allowed to soften slightly at room temperature to facilitate scooping.
This recipe yields a homemade ice cream that highlights taro’s unique flavor, ideal for those looking to enjoy a less common but flavorful frozen treat.
