Turmeric Paste Recipe
Description
This recipe combines ground turmeric and cinnamon powders with freshly grated ginger and black pepper to enhance absorption and flavor. Coconut oil and water are added to the dry ingredients in a saucepan over medium-low heat, whisked continuously until the mixture forms a paste and the oil fully melts. The resulting paste concentrates turmeric's flavors and actives with complementary spices.
Once cooled, the paste is stored in a jar and kept refrigerated for up to two weeks. To serve, a teaspoon of the paste is mixed into heated milk of choice to make turmeric golden milk, sweetened optionally with maple syrup or honey to taste. This flexible preparation simplifies using turmeric regularly in drinks or recipes.
The calorie count excludes optional sweeteners. Using fresh ginger gives a brighter note, but substitutions can be made based on availability.
