Vanilla Maple Baked French Toast

Decadent. Maple-y. Vanilla-y. Delicious. GET IN YOUR BELLY! This gorgeous Baked French Toast recipe is the real deal. Delightfully flavored french toast, topped with a sweet/nutty/crunchy topping, be warned - you will get addicted!!

Ingredients

Servings
  • 12 lices bread cut into triangles
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 ½ cups half and half
  • 2/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (if you can find vanilla-infused maple syrup, skip the vanilla)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon raw sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons Chopped Pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Grease an 8x8 baking pan with butter or baking spray.
  2. Cut the bread into triangles, and arrange in the baking pan.
  3. In a measuring jug, whisk together the eggs, half and half, maple syrup vanilla and salt.
  4. Pour the mixture over the bread.
  5. Cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes or overnight.
  6. Heat the oven to 350F.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon and salt.
  8. Sprinkle topping over the bread.
  9. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown on the top and set.
  10. Allow to cool slightly.
  11. Cut into slices, and serve.
  12. Devour.

Notes

  • Kylee's Notes 
  • Use a vanilla infused maple syrup, if you can find one. If not, add 1 tsp vanilla extract to the egg mixture.
  • If you can find one, a cinnamon infused maple syrup really dials up the cinnamon flavor
  • Switch out the white bread for whole wheat!
  • Use walnuts instead of pecans (if that's what you have)
  • Make a double batch. Trust me.
