Zlevanka

Zlevanka is a traditional dessert from Northern Croatia, made with maize flour, yeast, yogurt, oil, and two different types of cream.

Ingredients

Servings
  • ½ lb corn flour
  • teaspoon instant dry yeast
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 7 oz. yogurt
  • 7 oz. sour cream
  • cup fresh cream
  • ½ cup neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or parchment paper)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 390 F (200˚C).
  2. Mix together the flour and yeast.
  3. Beat the eggs with sugar, and mix in the yoghurt, sour cream, oil, milk, and salt.
  4. Add the flour and yeast into the egg mixture.
  5. Coat the baking pan with butter or line with parchment paper.
  6. Pour the mixture into a baking pan, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Coat the cake with fresh cream, and then bake for another 10 minutes.
