Notes

  • Oven Instructions
  • Proceed through all of the steps, but do not cover these with foil. Instead, place the apple crisp filled ramekins on a baking sheet and bake 40-45 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven!
  • Storage Tips
  • How to serve:
  • Enjoy these delicious apple crisp air fryer tarts with a healthy scoop of vanilla ice cream, a beautiful drizzle of caramel sauce, homemade whipped cream, or perhaps a dollop of yogurt if you want a lighter dessert or snack.
  • Then top that easy dessert creation with more chopped nuts and an apple slice for a gorgeously tempting dessert.
  • Tips for Two
  • Store easy apple crisp in the refrigerator covered in plastic wrap or placed in an airtight container up to 5 days.
  • Freeze up to 3 months -- leave off the topping and cover the dishes well with plastic wrap and a layer of aluminum foil. Then add the crumb topping before baking, placing the topping mixture in a freezer baggie).
  • Or bake, cooling completely, then cover with foil and place in airtight baggie and freeze. Thaw overnight in fridge or on counter for 30-60 minutes. Rewarm in air fryer by preheating to 325 degrees and bake covered for 10-15 minutes.
  • Double the Recipe| If you are serving these apple crips to a large crowd, double the recipe. Then preheat the oven to a warm setting and add each batch as they are finished in the air fryer. That way, they all stay nice and warm until time to serve.
  • Dairy Free (Vegan) Apple Crisp | Butter is the only ingredient that is dairy. Swap it out for dairy-free butter or coconut oil.
  • Gluten-Free Apple Crisp | Try using Bob's Red Mill Oats and a favorite Measure for Measure GF Flour.
  • Make up all 8 ramekins of individual servings of apple crisp and freeze what you aren't going to use right away by wrapping each well in plastic wrap and then placing them in an airtight baggie.
  • Then, when ready to air fry, remove the number of servings you want from the freezer and place them in the fridge overnight to thaw.
  • Or to make from frozen, remove two ramekins from the freezer and bring them to room temperature for 1 hour before placing them under the air fryer. For frozen crumbles, you may need to add 5-10 minutes to your air frying time.
