Almond Jello

Almond Jello is a dessert made by cooking agar agar powder, sugar, almond extract, and almond milk together, then mixing with more almond milk before chilling until set. The gelatinous jelly is cut into cubes and served with mixed canned fruit, combining a mild almond flavor with sweet and fruity accents.

Description

This Almond Jello recipe uses agar agar powder as a plant-based gelling agent combined with unsweetened almond milk and sugar, flavored with pure almond extract. The mixture is heated until slightly bubbling, then combined with additional almond milk before cooling and refrigeration to set the jelly.

The jelly has a mild almond taste and a firm but tender texture characteristic of agar-based gels. Serving it with mixed canned fruits adds natural sweetness and variety in texture, balancing the delicate almond flavor.

The recipe notes suggest stirring thoroughly when combining the hot agar mixture with the cold almond milk to ensure even consistency. Using canned fruit is convenient, but fresh fruit can be used with added syrup or sweetness to taste. Chilling before serving is important for best texture.

  5.  Put some almond jelly in a bowl and add some mixed canned fruits.

Notes

  • Allow the jelly to chill completely before serving for proper firmness.
  • Use canned mixed fruit for convenience or fresh fruit with added syrup if preferred.
  • Heat the agar mixture carefully over medium-low to medium heat until it bubbles to activate gelling.
