Apple & Blueberry Crumble

This Apple & Blueberry Crumble blends tart apple slices and fresh blueberries with a cinnamon-spiced sugar coating, topped by a crumbly mix of oats, pecans, and brown sugar. Baked until bubbly and golden, it offers a warm, textured dessert with a balance of juicy fruit and crunchy, buttery topping, enjoyable hot or at room temperature.

Description

The Apple & Blueberry Crumble uses thinly sliced Gala apples combined with blueberries and lemon juice to maintain brightness and prevent browning. Tossing the fruit with sugar, flour, and cinnamon provides sweetness and thickening while enhancing warm spice notes. The crumble topping mixes quick oats with brown sugar, chopped pecans, cinnamon, salt, and butter, bringing a rich, nutty crunch that contrasts the soft fruit beneath.

Baked in a buttered dish, the fruit mixture bubbles as the topping turns golden brown, signaling doneness. This dessert can be served with ice cream or enjoyed at room temperature, offering flexibility in presentation. The combination of textures and flavors makes it a comforting choice for showcasing seasonal fruit.
