Apple Pie

This Apple Pie combines a pastry crust filled with peeled, cored, and sliced apples bound in a mixture of eggs, brown sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. It bakes until the top is golden brown and the filling is set, resulting in a rich, custard-like texture enriched by creamy ingredients and sweetened apples. The crust provides buttery structure to the smooth, flavorful interior.

Description

The pie begins with a rolled-out pastry crust fitted into a 9-inch dish. There is an optional step to pre-bake the crust partially for a firmer base. The filling is made by whisking eggs, brown sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract, then combining with sliced apples. This custard mixture produces a creamy texture with the tender apples softened through baking.

Baking at 375°F for 40 to 50 minutes melts the sugar and sets the cream, creating a golden, slightly browned top typical of custard-style pies. The crust remains flaky, balancing the soft apple and rich interior.

When done, the pie offers a classic apple dessert experience with subtle sweetness and smooth creaminess, suitable for serving as a comforting dessert.
