Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler* and adjust the oven rack so that the cod will be about 4-6 inches from the boiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set aside.
  2. Pat the cod with paper towels and place it on the baking sheet with the skin side facing down.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  4. Brush the cod with melted butter and season with the seasoning mix.
  5. Place the cod on the properly positioned rack. Broil for about 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature of the cod reaches 145°F.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with your favorite herbs. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • *The broiled temperature is usually between 500 to 550°F. If your oven lets you set a broiler temperature, you can set it to 550F. If your oven doesn’t have a broiler temp setting option, simply select broil.
  • To store: Place the broiled filet in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
  • To reheat: Gently warm up the leftover in a skillet on the stovetop over medium-low heat until cooked through.
