Buffalo Chicken Garlic Bread

Buffalo Chicken Garlic Bread made on a loaf of French bread is one of the easiest fan favorite appetizers you can make! The bread is crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with the most rich and creamy buffalo chicken spread!

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 loaf French bread (cut in half lengthwise, or Italian loaf)
  • 3 cups chicken (cooked and shredded)
  • cup buffalo sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened at room temperature, 250 grams, 1 brick)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 2 green onions (thinly sliced)

Garlic Butter

  • cup butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (finely minced or shredded)

Garnish

  • ranch dressing (or blue cheese dressing)
  • green onion (thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup blue cheese (crumbled, optional)

Instructions

  1. Carefully slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Place the bread cut side up on a large cookie sheet, sheet pan, or baking tray.
  2. In a small bowl stir together the melted butter, garlic, and fresh chopped parsley. Brush the mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Note: depending on the size of the loaf of bread used you may need to double the garlic butter amount. Ensure there is enough butter to evenly cover both sides of the bread.
  3. Turn on the ovens broiler on low. Place the sheet pan with the bread on the middle rack of the oven for 2 minutes, rotate the tray and broil for 2 more minutes, or until just slightly golden brown and toasted. Watch the bread closely so it does not burn. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  4. Change oven temperature setting to 375°F.
  5. In a large bowl add the shredded cooked chicken and buffalo sauce. Toss until evenly coated.
  6. Add in the cream cheese, half of the cheddar cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and sliced green onions. Mix until evenly combined. Tip: taste the mixture to see if you would like to increase the spice level. Add an additional tablespoon at a time of buffalo sauce to your desired spice level.
  7. Use a spoon to spread half of the chicken mixture on each piece of toasted bread.
  8. Sprinkle each half with the reserved cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake the garlic bread for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
  10. Remove the bread from oven and top with crumbled blue cheese (optional) and green onions.
  11. Drizzle with ranch dressing, or blue cheese. Serve immediately and enjoy!
