Chocolate Truffles
Description
This Chocolate Truffles recipe uses heavy cream gently heated with semisweet chocolate disks (not chips or bars) to create a glossy ganache. After microwaving and allowing the mixture to sit, whisking produces a smooth, shiny base. Chilling it for at least four hours firms the ganache for shaping. Using a tablespoon scoop helps portion uniform truffles, which are rolled in either cocoa powder or powdered sugar to finish.
The resulting truffles have a velvety texture with deep chocolate richness moderated by the dairy cream. They are straightforward to prepare with minimal ingredients and steps, requiring only chilling time before assembly.
These truffles serve well as an elegant treat for gatherings or gifts and can be stored chilled to maintain firmness.
