Easy 5 Minute Togarashi Sauce Recipe

This quick Togarashi Sauce is a spicy mayo blended with homemade shichimi togarashi seasoning, combining red pepper flakes, orange zest, garlic powder, and toasted sesame seeds. The sauce is creamy with a balanced heat and a hint of citrus brightness from the zest. Suitable as a condiment or dip, it brings a vibrant, spicy flavor to dishes in just minutes.

Description

The Easy 5 Minute Togarashi Sauce blends mayonnaise (or sour cream) with sriracha for creaminess and heat. The homemade shichimi togarashi seasoning includes crushed red pepper flakes, orange zest, garlic powder, sugar, salt, black pepper, toasted sesame seeds, and crumbled nori, providing layered spice, citrus aroma, and umami seaweed notes. Mixing these elements yields a flavorful spicy mayo with distinctive complexity beyond plain hot sauce blends.

The sauce can be adjusted for salt and heat levels to suit personal taste. It's ready to serve immediately as a dip, dressing, or topping on various dishes needing a spicy, creamy kick. The combination from the made-from-scratch seasoning offers freshness compared to store-bought alternatives.

Storing the sauce in an airtight jar in the refrigerator keeps it fresh for up to three weeks, making it a convenient make-ahead condiment.
