Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef 80% lean for juiciness
- 1 white onion finely grated
- 4 cloves garlic finely minced
- 2 tablespoon gluten-free Worcestershire sauce*
- 1 tablespoon gluten-free soy sauce*
- 2 tablespoon chives chopped
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the beef mixture: In a large bowl, combine all the burger ingredients. Gently mix with your hands until the ingredients are just combined to avoid tough burgers.
- Form the patties: Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape into patties about ¾-inch thick. Press firmly when forming the patties. Then, using your thumb, make a small indent in the center of each patty. This will help prevent the burgers from puffing up during cooking.
- Cook the burgers: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for medium-well.If cooking on the stove: Heat a nonstick or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Rest and serve: Allow the burgers to rest for 2-3 minutes before serving. This helps the burgers retain their juiciness. Serve on gluten-free buns with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- * see substitutions in the post if you can't find either of these gluten-free ingredients.
- Storage: Store cooked burgers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the cooked patties for up to 3 months.
- Recipe Tip: Press the patties firmly when forming them to ensure they hold together without eggs or breadcrumbs.
